A Quick Summary
Our Philosophy.
Our greatest desire is to train our children in a "Spirit-Filled" environment with an emphasis on their individualization. We believe that a Christian environment is where any child can best reach his potential, providing not only protection, but also healing and growth. Individualization focuses on the uniqueness of each child and their God-given strengths. We seek to provide academics unique to the abilities of each child and their rate of learning, while building their confidence and individual self-esteem.
Daily Schedule.
Each school day will begin at 8:15 am and will dismiss at 2:45 pm. Doors open at 7:30 am. All students must be off the property by 3:00 pm unless enrolled in an after-school program or extra-curricular activity.
Our 4 & 5 year old Kindergarten Program is part-time. Monday, Wednesday & Friday 8:15-2:00 pm. A Full-Time Kindergarten Program is available at our regular tuition rates. After-school care may be offered if an adequate number of students apply. The cost is $5 per student per hour. Daily activities will be planned.
Tuition Cost.
Our tuition and fees are $1195 per student Part-Time Kindergarten, $2,395 per student Grades 1-8, $2,795 per student Grades 9-12. Financial assistance is available. Click here for more information.
Lunch.
We do not prepare lunches on-site for our students. Limited use of microwaves and refrigerator is available to students.
Accreditation.
We are currently enrolling students as a Non-Public, Non-Chartered, Non-Tax Supported School (OAC 3301-35-08). The purpose of this classification is to allow Christians to send their students to a Christian school on the basis of religious freedom. This exempts our school from Ohio laws regulating staff and curriculum content; therefore, permitting us to teach our students from a Biblical perspective.
Annually we submit a letter of compliance to both the Ohio Board of Education and our parents. This letter guarantees that our staff will be academically qualified, we will teach required subjects and we will hold classes at least 5 hours a day for 182 days.
Our students are not subject to Ohio Proficiencies or the Ohio Graduation Test. They are eligible for the Ohio Post Secondary Enrollment Options (qualified students may attend college free of tuition in their junior & senior years).
Graduating seniors receive a recognized diploma. Our students have gone on to further their education at places like John Carroll University, Lake Erie College, Lakeland Community College and Notre Dame; several with substantial scholarships. We have also had students enlist into the United States Military.
Christian Behavior.
We establish that New Life Christian Academy will provide an atmosphere conducive to the spiritual growth and development of its students.
Curriculum.
We use individualized curriculum from Alpha-Omega Publications and other Christian-based publication companies. Students begin their academic learning with paper work-texts. Elementary students begin using computer-based classes in level three and middle and high school students are almost exclusively in computerized curriculum. Click here for more information
Religious Affiliation.
New Life Christian Academy is an educational ministry of New Life Church. Our church is associated with the United Pentecostal Church International (http://www.upci.org/).
Students will experience and participate in our chapel services and morning devotions. Each student will be encouraged to express their faith in song, clapping their hands, raising their hands, prayer, reading scripture and communicating their faith to others.
Students will be given opportunities and encouraged to confess their belief in Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, be baptized in Jesus name, and receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit, if they have not yet done so.
Dress Code.
Our students do not have a school uniform, but do have a dress code policy. Students are expected to dress in "Business Casual." Our young men wear "Kaki" or "Docker" style pants and our young ladies wear casual skirts and dresses. Please see our student handbook for more information.
What is Your Child's Learning Style?
Does your student? find himself struggling to grasp information that they hear or read and can not process it quickly enough to understand all of it?
Does your student? study hard to learn something but find when tested or asked to perform, they don't remember everything they studied?
Is your student getting less than A's on tests and courses?
If you can answer yes to any of the above questions, it may be due to the fact that information is not being presented in the learner's best learning style.
Communication and comprehension gaps can be caused by a difference in the way the material is presented and the way the learner needs to learn it. Comprehension, memory, and performance can be improved by knowing a person's best learning style and knowing how they best learn. Learning style is the way your brain takes in information and stores it in memory.
Where To Begin?
We start by discovering your child’s learning style. This gives us a basis for finding their best learning environment. We use a variety of curriculums that will be tailored to your student’s needs. His/her curriculum will be customized for them!
Next? We teach How To Learn.
A student that is struggling in their school work may simply have never been taught how to learn! Learning how a child processes information can help us in giving them tools to learn with. We teach each child how to increase their memory and build their note-taking and study skills. This builds the student’s confidence in their own ability. Often their testing scores begin to increase immediately.
Next? We fill in the Learning Gaps.
Next we assess areas of learning your student has mastered and any areas they might have had difficulties. Imagine a brick wall being built. Along the way, a block here and there was left out. Eventually the strength of the structure would compromised. We begin by filling in these learning gaps to create a strong foundation for continued learning!
Next? Set the Pace.
Our curriculum is based upon the principle of mastery learning, in which students truly mater the content and skills of one unit before progressing to the next. Different students learn at different speeds, so mastery learning ensures success by allowing each student to spend as much time as he needs in a particular subject area before moving ahead.
Let’s Focus on the Student.
While ‘Learning Disabilities’ present some significant challenges. Our focus on the individual gives our students the advantage to succeed. Any child with love and proper instruction can grow to love God, find success in life and fulfill God’s will for their life!
Alpha-Omega Curriculum
Horizon’s Curriculum
The Horizons curriculum builds skills in Mathematics and Language Arts and is an alternative to the LIFEPAC curriculum for elementary students. The Horizons lessons are brightly illustrated to extend the child’s attention span. Hands-on learning is included in every lesson. All learning material is presented in a “spiral-learning” format where a few concepts are introduced at a time while reviewing and reinforcing previous concepts.
LIFEPAC Curriculum
With LIFEPAC students work in full-color worktext books, combining exercises, projects, review, and tests. LIFEPAC combines the Bible and the academic, providing the opportunity for students to evaluate their lessons from a Christian perspective. An award-winning curriculum, LIFEPAC has been developed to provide the best learning experiences for each student through personalized instruction and self-pacing.
Switched-On Schoolhouse Curriculum
SOS is a computer-based program featuring 3-D animation and cutting edge multimedia. Students finish lessons by completing various questions, activities, and quizzes, all on their computer. Students are guided through the lessons at their own pace, giving them the chance to master concepts before moving on to more challenging lessons. We use this excellent resource as our primary curriculum.

Children, Our God-Given Responsibility
Hear, O Israel:
The LORD our God is one LORD:
And thou shalt love the LORD thy God
with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul,
and with all thy might.
And these words,
which I command thee this day,
shall be in thine heart:
And thou shalt teach them diligently
unto thy children,
and shalt talk of them
when thou sittest in thine house,
and when thou walkest by the way,
and when thou liest down,
and when thou risest up.
Deuteronomy 6:4-7
